Joost will lift the invitation flood gate on March 15 2007
Wow, this is a busy day for Joost! Here is another great News! Eric Clemenceau just announced in a Podcast interview that Joost will allow the current 80,000 to 100,000 beta testers to send a huge amount of Joost invitations on March 15 2007. So grab that tiny nit of money on selling those invites on ebay while it last! After March 15 the ebay market value of those will drop to 0$
So you thought that Joost was going to be opening the floodgates for beta testers to invite a huge amount of people? Think again.

Server resource shortage responsible for lack of new Joost beta invitation tokens?
March 15 2007 has arrived and guess what… Eric Clemanceau VP Europe marketing from Joost was wrong… there were no beta invitation tokens flood. What does it mean? A little bird told me that there is currently a server side capacity issue at Joost. Plenty of bandwidth is available for content distribution (read 2.5 gigabits internet transit) but there are not enough servers to allow for much more beta user growth.
I guess once new servers come online invitations will start going out again…I guess Eric did not know about this when he made the interview.
Let hope Joost install new servers in a near future.
So there you have it folks. How lame.
A rumor? Which part? Who knows anymore?
By the time Joost is ready to give more invites, the deadline will come for it’s release, or so it seems. Then again, perhaps not. We’ll see.
Here is an update from the official Joost blog:

You might have heard some rumours in the last few days that we were about to release a flood of invites for Joost. It’s true that we are indeed scaling up for a much wider release… very soon, so keep an eye out here for updates over the next couple of weeks.
We’re determined to make Joost a great experience for all of our viewers, and we want to make sure that we don’t unleash it on the world before it’s ready. Watch this space for a new version of the product, a new-look website and some great new content - it’s all about to happen!
I figured that this is worth adding to the discussion. I’m sure that eventually, we will be seeing widespread use of Joost. It’s only a matter of time.
If you ask me, as a beta user, I think that Joost is just trying to buy some time, trying to work out some legal stuff for its content. Then again what do I know? But given all of the lawsuits happening in recent weeks, I would not be surprised if this might have something to do with the delay, rather than it just being a hardware/bandwidth issue.
Just a thought.

Brent… note that my site joostteam.com is not link at all with the joost.com site… like the xboxteam.com site is not linked with xbox.com… so take what I write with a grain of salt
But you have information from a little birdie?
I’m not sure who to trust anymore. It seems like all hype and rumors, half of the time.
Little Bird is reliable but PR people may not agree with him
Well this sucks. Anyway I hope Joost straighten up and install new servers soon.
The little birdie flew away…
Damn, this means I’ve got to stop kissing your ass for an invite.
Ha. But I like it when you kiss my ass Stiletto Girl. It feels so good!
I am a Joost beta tester so lucky me. Its got a ways to go, but it definitely has potential.
I agree. It needs some work.
I’d love to get an invitation to this revolutionary idea? I pay through the nose for my current tv subscription and pretty soon won’t be able to afford it. What’s the best way to go about getting an invite/token?
thanks in advance.
